Writing about things that fascinate, inspire, wow and even scare you half to death is easy, I know because it's what I do mostly. Writing about yourself isn't. I know because I try not to. But if you're here on this page then chances are you want to know a little bit about the bride to be who rambles on in this UK wedding blog and hopefully, from time to time makes you feel inspired, curious, happy and excited about (I'm guessing) your own wedding. I could be wrong on all counts of course.
Here are 6 little things I can tell you about myself:
Fact # 1
I'm a 24 year old encased in the body of a 43 year young woman. Evolution tells me I am middle aged, I still feel like I'm coming out of puberty.
Fact # 2
I have two amazingly beautiful daughters who inspire me to stay young and ridiculous although remain outraged at the very idea that I can actually text and use words like LOL and OMG.I don't know what they mean but hey, I'm down with the disgruntled kids.
Fact # 3
I live with the most patient, understanding and supportive man. He loves wine. More than me sometimes but then I love Michael Buble, more than him a lot of the time. This long-suffering species is otherwise referred to in my blog (for now at least) as Husband To Be (HTB)
Fact # 4
I've done a ton of things in my journey through life, plenty of it boring. My greatest times have been as a stylist and shopper marketing person (I hate using the word 'expert'), changing the confidences and experiences of literally hundreds of women and men in the heady and confusing world of looking good.
Fact # 5
Writing is my passion. I love it. I'm not a journo but I wished I had been. If there were a write-a-thon I'd enter it every day of the week. I surprise myself sometimes at the diversity of my writing - sitting somewhere between gibbering self-talk and actual fleeting moments of brilliance (did I just really say that?!) A psychic recently told me 'There's a book in you'. Funnily enough she didn't mention the words 'Blockbuster' or '£million advance'. Hmmm.
Fact # 6
I'm a nutter when it comes to finding a bargain. I should have been a Procurement Officer, I'd have been brilliant. I cant help myself - its an intrinsic and irritating part of who I am. I LOOOOOVE finding great deals, bargains, stunning things at not so stunning places, treasures in dingy shops that smell of musty old socks and best of all spotting designer clothes and accessories for pennies not pounds. In the most challenging of times, I've used this as my 'fake it til you make it' weapon, dressing to kill and thrill before heading to Poundland for my weekly shop.
Fact #7
I'm only getting married! Yup. On June 23rd 2012, me and him (Keith / HTB) are finally doing the deed and making formal a very chilled out relationship. What makes this even more amazing is that I get to indulge my love and passion for all of the above and create a blog charting our own wedding planning as I DIY it with the help of some amazing friends, strangers (simply friends I haven't met yet) and talented professionals who can show me how.
